QUICK DRILL

Practice by topic

Choose a domain, set a question count, and drill down on your weak areas. All questions use study mode — instant explanations after each answer.

How to use Quick Drill properly

A full mock test tells you whether you are ready. Quick Drill is for the step in between: fixing the specific domains that are costing you marks. Used well, it is the fastest way to move a 55% mock score past the 65% pass mark, because you spend your time only where the marks are being lost.

The method that works best is a simple four-step loop:

  1. Diagnose. Take one full ITIL v5 mock test and note every domain where you scored below 65% on the results screen.
  2. Drill. Run 10 questions in your weakest domain only. Read the explanation for every question, including the ones you got right. A correct guess is not knowledge, and the explanation is where the learning happens.
  3. Repair. For any idea you missed twice, go to its source: the Syllabus Map card or the matching concept guide. Then drill the domain again.
  4. Re-test. When you score 80% or more in a domain on two separate days, move to the next weakest. Finish with a fresh mock test to confirm the improvement holds under a 60-minute timer.
Instructor tip: Leave at least a day between drills of the same domain. Recalling an answer after a gap is what moves it into long-term memory; repeating it straight away mostly measures short-term recall.

What each domain is really testing

The Foundation exam rarely asks you to recite a definition. It describes a workplace situation and asks which concept, principle or practice applies. Here is what to focus on in each domain, with the number of questions available to drill in our 200-question bank.

DomainQuestionsWhat the exam is checking
The ITIL Value System61How the components (guiding principles, governance, value chain, practices and continual improvement) combine to turn demand into value, and which of the 7 guiding principles a scenario is applying.
Key ITIL terms43Precise meanings that are easy to blur: output vs outcome, utility vs warranty, product vs service, cost vs risk. Wrong options are usually near-misses on wording.
ITIL and AI30The six capabilities of the AI (6C) model, AI governance and ethics, AI risks, and the difference between AI and simple automation.
The Four Dimensions23Recognising which dimension a problem sits in (VOIP), and how external PESTLE factors constrain all four.
Product & Service Lifecycle19What each of the eight activities, Discover through Support, contributes, and which one a described task belongs to.
Value streams16The difference between a value stream and a process, choosing which activities a stream needs, and what value stream mapping is used for.
ITIL and other frameworks8How ITIL works alongside ways of working such as Agile, DevOps and Lean rather than replacing them.

Two domains, the Value System and Key Terms, make up just over half of this question bank. If your study time is limited, secure those first: they also underpin almost every scenario question in the other domains.

Drill or full mock test: which one when?

Use Quick Drill while you are still learning: it runs in study mode, so every answer is explained immediately. Switch to full mock tests once your domain scores are consistently above 70%, because only a timed 40-question paper shows whether you can hold that standard for 60 minutes. A sensible rhythm in the final week is one full mock every other day, with drills on the days in between targeting whatever that mock exposed.

Short on time today? The exam cheat sheet covers the mnemonics, including STOPKFC for the guiding principles and VOIP for the four dimensions, that make several drill questions much faster to answer.
